It's Been Awhile...

 ...A long while

Hello there, I hope this finds you well?

Life for me has changed a lot over the last few years and I guess for some of you too but I continue to do the things I love and the things that make me happy. Sadly both my sewing machines broke down and I had to buy another one to keep me going until I am able to get to a repair shop because I love to sew...
Recently my husband had his driving licence revoked due to him having glaucoma despite his consultant and 2 independent opthamologists saying he was perfectly fit to drive. It is like taking his legs away - so after many years I have had to start driving again and believe me I am finding it nerve wracking.

I can honestly say that life is anything but quiet in this household, the universe continues to visit us with challenges. It all got too much for my husband and one morning he collapsed and fell down the stairs...He was incredibly lucky not to have done some serious damage and spent a day in hospital with only cuts and bruises but boy it gave me such a fright.

Anyway, today I have some happy paintings to share - meet the beach babes

of course not all beach days are warm, sometimes it's blowing a gale on a coastal walk

and I did a double page in my tiny art book

I don't know why it is that I prefer to do paintings that involve the sea but I'm always led there and...in a couple of weeks we will be taking a 7 day cruise from my home town to France. We are so looking forward to it, the rest, the sea air and not having to do anything but enjoy...

I hope you enjoyed seeing these, wishing you a beautiful day

Hi Ros..Lovely to see your talent again...these are so lovely, and like you I love scenes involving the sea. Yes life has changed in the past few years but we must make the most of it i guess. Sorry to hear about hubby, I would dread having my licence revoked as it take away your independence, but they seem to be hell bent in getting us oldies off the road!! Enjoy your cruise.
Love and hugs
xx

Wonderful to see some more of your brilliant watercolours Ros, and I love your sweet little added figures and your seascapes are always divine! Sorry to hear that your husband has had to stop driving..I feel these days it's any excuse to get older drivers off the road which is totally unfair, and the DVLA should have taken the word of the experts, and glad that his fall didn't leave him with any problems. I know going back to driving can be stressful, but hopefully you will begin to feel easier behind the wheel. The cruise sounds wonderful and I'm sure you will have a super time. x

Awww, Ros, Life keeps throwing hurdles and you keep going around them. I'm happy to see you're still painting. You can still do that beautifully, and it's fortunate that you were able to buy a new sewing machine so you can continue to enjoy that activity as well. I'm sorry your husband's driving license was so unfairly taken away. His misfortune is yours as well, and that's the way it always is in a marriage and families. The driving will be second nature to you soon enough, and I know you'll be glad for the independence. There are so many ways in which my Rich has to feel left out or restricted or dependent. It's sad to see but we, too, carry on. Your upcoming cruise sounds wonderful! It's nice to have something enjoyable to anticipate. Hugs!

How wonderful to see you pop up, Ros, and wonderful to see your little paintings again! I always love your seascapes (so hard to do IMHO!) and the added lasses are brilliant! I'm sorry for all that's happened, but so relieved that Ian is okay. That sucks about his driving and that you have to go back to it.🙁 Enjoy the relaxation and the sea air on your relaxing get-away cruise! Hugs, Darnell

Your paintings are as beautiful as ever Ros...your talent never ceases to amaze me! I'm sorry to hear about all of life's challenges for you...you and hubby sure seem to keep getting hit! I've had my fair share too, but other than plugging along, what else can you do?! Hang in there and definitely enjoy that cruise...sounds wonderful!! Hugs. :0)

Hello my dear friend! I'm so sorry I missed seeing this post until now. Challenges for sure! Can understand how devastating it was for your hubby to not be able to drive. I only drive where I'm very familiar, so I understand your discomfort. Such a blessing he wasn't seriously hurt. Hope you've had a wonderful vacation by now! Your paintings continue to amaze me, Ros! Absolutely beautiful--could just stare at them all day! Thinking of you and sending love, Greta

Hi Ros. As always, your paintings are wonderful. I LOVE your beach babes ... and beach scene in general always give me a sence of calmness. You have captured that in your paintings, my friend. I am so sorry to hear about your hubby, but happy he is doing OK. And I also wish those challenges would take a break for you. Love, Loll
