Thank You ....

Just popping in this morning to say a big Thank You to the lovely June Lanum  for the beautiful "Friendly Blog Award" ...

June actually designed this herself!  ... And has asked that we pass it on to others too ... As my DT colleagues at CCCB also have it I am awarding it to a few other lovely friends I have made: -

These girls have always been so supportive and I am so grateful to them ... as I am to all of you who take the time to leave encouraging comments....

Have a beautiful Day

One for the boys!

It's Tuesday again and my turn to host the challenge at City Crafter Challenge ... and just how lucky am I to have none other than Beatriz Jennings of Iralamija as guest designer? ... She is just so brilliant and I adore her creations ... I'm sure you will too ... go take a peek ..
We at City Crafter Challenge love to see all your beautiful entries but voting is never an easy thing ... So this week I have set a challenge using a gorgeous photo from A Creative Mint courtesy of Leslie ... (if you have never visited her site you really ought to ... such inspiring pictures that make you oooh and ahhh!) ... The challenge is to use the colours from the photograph to make a masculine card or project ... Yep, One for the boys!

I made this with my Son in mind ... As you know he likes to travel and his second home is the west coast of America ... though fortunately for me he has been home with me most of this year, which I love ...
But each time he goes ... he takes my heart with him...

.. a little pocket card with tiny postcards tucked into it. The first time he left to travel Europe he sent me postcards from just about everywhere ... and I needed somewhere to keep them as they are treasures that a Mom keeps right?... Like every school report, merit card, painted picture etc., and yes I have them all including the many letters he would write to me when he was a little boy ... most days he would give me a letter at the end of the day thanking me for all I do and telling me how much he loves me ... (sigh)
back to my project ...

So I made a box to store all my cards ... there's still room to add some more ...

actually it is 2 boxes ... the top being slightly wider and shorter so that it slips neatly over the box holding the postcards. Virtually all digital papers used here as is the suitcase stamp which I paper pieced. Mini postcards, chipboard, and button from my stash as is the little heart. I stamped the heart as well as the box with a postmark stamp ... not sure where I got this sorry.

Now it's your turn ... and one little thing that I didn't mention is that the prize this week is one of my plaques ... I had an overwhelming response when I showed my first one Here ... so I made another but added even more ...

You like???
Look forward to seeing your fabulous creations this week ...

Keep safe

Jar Swap

Good morning!
It's a dull windy Sunday morning here and I have a bit of time to dedicate to my blog so I am thrilled to be able to share with you the beautiful things I received from my Jar Swap held by City Crafter Challenge -  the Party blog can be found Here and you can view all the blogs that participated as they post.

I was paired up with the lovely Lynnda Hosni and we both thought that her parcel had gone astray ... it took so long ... but when it did finally arrive I was completely speechless! That clever friend of mine had made the most beautiful bag to hold everything and a lovely little card to accompany it ...

Just look at all that stuff! Chock full ... Bags of flowers and alphabets ... ribbon, buttons, tags, chipboard shapes ...

 ... little metal flowers too!
I am so very grateful and so fortunate ... "THANK YOU" Lynnda ...
As some of you may know, I hold a crafting class for mentally and physically challenged adults and as it is voluntary ... I supply lots of the goods myself ... so I am sure that Lynnda with her big heart will not mind if I share some of these things with my group ... they will be so very grateful ....
Have a wonderful day my friends ...

Till soon

On A Mission ...

... a Mission To Create  that is ...

It seems so long since I did any challenges and sometimes given a recipe (of sorts) can kick start my creativity ... give me inspiration when I'm lacking ...
So today having seen the lovely creations done by the DT, I took up the challenge at Mission To Create which is to make a card using 3 - 5 of the following concepts ...
1. Gingham patterned Paper
2. Use the colour purple
3. Make a banner
4. Pop dot your photos
5. Stitching

I kind of went with all 5 ...

Used my little fairy stickers again ... pop dot were used both on the banner and the leaves - stitching is something I'm not sure I can live without ... love how much impact it makes ... Of course there is a purple banner and gingham and just a couple of little extras ....

Thank you to all of you who left sweet comments yesterday ... I did get a good nights rest ... and I did debate whether I should have shared the events with you ... but you know, this is me - my life - my  journey - so yes, I have no hang ups about sharing real life ...

Till soon

How's your day?

I hope that you are all having a good day ... the sun is still shining here in Liverpool but alas I am so tired ... I have had two sleepless night in a row .. courtesy of some things that have happened in my neighbourhood. We live in a nice house ... nice neighbours and fairly quiet ... That was up until a couple of years ago when new people moved in and changed things. Over the last few years there has been a fair bit of "disruption" between these neighbours and outsiders, which culminated in another clash the night before last and then the big one last night when their house was fire bombed ... We are tired, shocked and at a loss at to what has happened ... How do people live their lives like this??
So I have not had time today to make anything though I do have a card to share which I made from my scraps yesterday ...

I also used a lovely tag from Bluebird Lane and their seam binding too ...

Love those little felt butterflies all glittered up ... It makes me feel better to see something pretty ...
At least I should have peaceful nights from now on ... guess that's the upside!

Till soon

Family Time...

We had a family gathering on Monday ... attended a farewell barbecue for Ross (my great nephew) and his Mum and the annual Lifeboat show on the beach just across the road from their house, made for a lovely day ... even the sun shone and for the first time it felt like summer! True to form I suppose ... the children all return to school and now the sun shines! It goes very cold at night though but I can live with that ...
It was good to be with my small family group ... though the house and garden were full to bursting with people ... Like many families, we have known a lot of tragedies ... lost too many young and beautiful people far too soon ... but we have survived ... a little frayed around the edges (well maybe a lot) ... but we are stronger and closer for it.
Inspired by my family I made this card today ...

A mixture of Websters Pages with some Papermania and the little birds are from Vinnie Pearce again - There is only 1 bird in the digital kit so I altered the colour and voila! 2 birds ...

I picked up the little scalloped lace at a flea market  ... thought it looked so pretty.
More to share tomorrow ...

Till then - keep safe
