City Crafter 279

Hello there!

I'm hosting this week's challenge over at City Crafter
The challenge is Paper Piecing

It's an old technique and brilliant if you are not comfortable with colouring images or masking them off and it's a great way of using up your scraps of paper!
So this week that's what we want to see on your projects

I used the Doodle Buds stamps from Wplus9, stamping first onto my card and then onto scraps of paper and piecing them together

I love the colours you can achieve with papers and it couldn't be simpler!

Our Guest Designer this week is Oribella - click the link to go visit her blog - you'll love her beautiful creations!

I hope you'll join us this week and share your beautiful projects ... Head on over to CCCB to see what the rest of the team have created to inspire you

Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Messy

Good morning!

Time for another prompt at

This week I have chosen the word for you and it's
"Messy"

At the back of our home we have lots of trees some of which bear nuts ... The squirrels got busy!
Every morning for about a week this is what I came down to... No sooner had I cleared it up then another downpour of shells came... So Messy!

The birds ... they constantly throw moss down from the roof and everywhere is Messy

And me? Well my carelessness caused a messy floor ...

...as I knocked over my box of sequins ... Once they were all sorted into colours, now they are just a sparkly mess

Oh well - that's the way it goes sometimes ...

Share your "messy" photos with us at

Then I won't feel so bad haha!

Enjoy your sunday

Congrats

Hello and good morning to you!

Friday is here once more and for me it means I can relax a little. Club night was really hectic and I've had some other family issues to take care of... Thankfully everything has gone well

I have managed to make a couple of cards ... As I am going away next week I've been keeping up with DT projects but this card is going to the Netherlands

It's for our friend Martijn ... Stella's youngest son
If you follow my blog you will remember that Martijn came to Liverpool for a 6 month stint to work on his Masters Degree and during that time we sort of adopted him...

Back home in the Netherlands he graduated with excellence! I couldn't be happier for him or my dear friends Stella and Marcel
So this is from all of us ... the cats included - Martijn became good friends with Ginger cat Lol!

I do hope your weekend is a good one ... Thanks so much for looking in on me - Your friendship means a lot and I had a lovely card this week from my blog friend Greta

Thank you Greta ... It couldn't have come at a better time!

Have a lovely day

Till soon

City Crafter 278

Hello!
Time for a new challenge at City Crafter where Kirsty is hosting for us with a theme titled
Feeling Flat

He looks like I'm feeling right now having just prepared a project for my special needs group ... 60 notebooks to put together (3 each) plus a box to hold them in with all the embellishments phew!

On to the challenge ... Kirsty wants us to create a card that is flat and mail friendly
I made this for a friend who celebrated his birthday recently

This slotted into an envelope easily and only regular postage

After masking off, I stencilled right onto my card front with inks and added a little embossed stencilling too

Our Guest Designer this week is Buffy Burnside of Cherished Mementos - click on her name to go visit her blog

As always the team have more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog
I hope you can play along with us this week!

Have yourselves a beautiful day

Jump

Hello and good morning!

It's been such a busy week, meetings for the new schedule at Thursday Club where I hold a craft class for physically and mentally challenged adults. Then a funeral to attend - We lost one of our lovely girls from Thursday Club... Louisa was a popular young lady and would have celebrated her 30th birthday next month... so very sad.
Now I'm busy coming up with projects for the group next week so I've had little time to myself and little time to visit you all.

Today's prompt at

Has been chosen for us by Kirsty and the prompt is "Jump"

I found this tough ... I only had this photo taken recently whilst I was out shopping with DH
Then I remembered I had some that fit the prompt taken when the Giants came to visit us in Liverpool

In order for those Giant puppets to move, the people dressed in red have to grab on to the ropes and jump
It's hard work and takes a lot of effort and they are all volunteers from the city

That's all I have today ... I'm sure the rest of the team have lots more to share and I hope you link up with us at

I'd love to see what you come up with.

I hope to get around to your blogs soon - Have a great day!

September, Birthdays and Holidays

Early September...
The shops are bustling with parents and children buying uniforms and all the necessary supplies as the school term starts again.... Leaves are falling from the trees, flowers are dying out and the squirrel is rushing around my garden trying to gather anything he can before winter sets in. And we have rain... lots of it...Ginger cat is miserable and mooching around not knowing quite what to do with himself.

There are lots of birthdays this month in my circle of friends and family and DH is due to be a grandfather for the second time next week, so here's another birthday card I've made for a blog friend ...

One way to dress up old papers is to stencil on them and add a good splash of paint Lol! This kind of looks like a galaxy now, that's not what I was aiming for but I'm ok with it

It's contrary to the white space cards I normally do and I've added a flower...I have lots of them because I always used them a lot but no so much now. I even squeezed in some watercolour on the leaves

Did I tell you we were hoping to get away this month? I so need some sunshine and rest. Well it seems that the whole world had the same idea and it's been a nightmare trying to get anything... It appears that lots of people are reluctant to travel to certain places now due to the unrest with wars, economies and other issues but yesterday I did find something and in a couple of weeks we are off to a luxury hotel in a quiet area of my favourite island Majorca. We've never stayed in this part before though we have visited it ...  People like Tom Cruise and Claudia Schiffer have properties in the area so it should be good.

Well, I'll let you get on ... Thanks so much for stopping by
Have a great day
