With Love

Hello ...

We have glorious sunshine this morning even though it's freezing cold ... The sun makes me feel a lot more cheerful and DH has taken the opportunity to go golfing

I have another card to share using up scraps ...

The rose was a free stamp that came with a magazine and I thought I'd try painting it with Gelatos and I used my new Wink of Stella pen but try as I might I can't get a photo of the sparkle

I'm enjoying using white embossing for my sentiments lately too ... The leaves are cut from a die set from Clearly Besotted ... A terrific company ... the service is so quick! I have the stamps to go with the dies but I used Distress stains on these and some gold ink to add dots ... That's often how my rose leaves look in the garden

I hope you are having a good week ... Be safe

City Crafter 247

Hello from a very cold Liverpool!

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter and this challenge was chosen for us by the lovely Char who will no longer be on the team owing to health issues
We will miss her very much and we are all hoping that she will make a speedy recovery

We do however, have a new team member joining us - The talented Samra (click on her name to go visit her blog)
A warm welcome to Samra ... We know you will love her creations as much as we at City Crafter do

The theme Char picked this week is
Lace and Roses

And of course that means to make a card or project that includes lace and roses

I don't do many shabby style cards anymore though my love of them still remains ... I prefer to make ones with a cleaner style often throwing in a little something extra

So here's what I came up with this week

I used one of my wine labels which you can get Here -  This time I left it just as it is ... no stamping - That gorgeous rose is a button (from my friend Kirsty)

Dare I say that once again this card was created mostly from left overs ... I "dipped" the tips of the vellum flourish with gold embossing powder to tie in with the gold paint splats and also added some sparkle to the rose

This card went off to another blog friend Wendy who celebrated her birthday last week

Our Guest Designer this week is Kara Lynne - Winner of challenge week 241 Her creations are so unique! Click the link and take a look around her blog
As always we will be offering a GD spot to this weeks winner so I do hope you'll join in our challenge and go and see what the rest of our team have created on the City Crafter Blog this week ...

Enjoy your day and stay safe
Thanks for your visit

Signs of Spring

Hello and Happy February!!
Is it cold? It sure is here

It's my turn to pick this week's prompt at

The prompt I have picked is kind of wishful thinking it's
Signs of Spring

Nothing says it better than these gorgeous flowers... This is a birthday bouquet that my dear Aunt sent to me and because of the upheaval here I put them in the conservatory ... It's so cold in there that my bouquet is as fresh today as it was when it arrived!

It may be cold but there are signs around that warm my heart and make me look forward to the days to come

Beneath the icy exterior daffodil bulbs are working their magic and the shoots are beginning to appear
I adore Daffodils ... I think they are just so cheerful

It never ceases to amaze me how such delicate things even snowdrops and crocus can force their way through the hardest of soil

It won't be long before these are in bloom and their sunny smile fills the garden ... Here in my part of the UK Daffodils are planted virtually everywhere ... fields of hope for cancer ... even the central reservations and embankments are full of them
And there are other signs too if you care to look

Though the trees look like they are dead and gone ... Spring is stirring, birds are singing and I am counting the days.....

Have a beautiful day

Scrap card 2

Hello to you!

I'm sorry I haven't been around your blogs for a few days ... I hope to catch up soon
Life just get's in the way ... I'm busy painting furniture, covering the new dining chairs with fabric along with all the other things that somehow take my day.
Pat and I did get to spend some time together yesterday and we had fun ...

So here's another card made from bits and pieces left over

The feathers I made way before Christmas and never used them ... The embossed card that they are mounted on was a left over scrap when I was trying out heat embossing and sponging with inks

The only 'new' item is the little heart and I added a pearl just to the tip

I may add a sentiment later ... sometimes a card really doesn't need words on the outside

Before I go I would like to say Happy Birthday to a sweet friend
Wendy Sylvestre (Appleapricot blogspot)

Have a beautiful day my friend!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend ... I'll catch up with you later and I'll be back tomorrow for the new prompt at OBW

Take care

Scrap Cards

Hello ...
It's been a busy few weeks and I've so much to do in the house ... sewing and painting and sorting out my craft stuff eventually...
I'm trying to keep going all day to distract myself from this awful itch and the rash I'm enduring... I have an appointment at the hospital next week and I'm praying that they will find something to cure me...

The other night we had workmen here until late so I spent a couple of hours in my room and pulled out lots of scraps and made 4 cards ... I'll try and share one each day
But here's the first one proving you don't need much to get a pretty card

I love this card and it's only 2 little scraps of paper ... one that I had splattered gold paint on
The die cut 'you' I had in black and white ... I tend to cut a few at a time and keep them to hand ... So I layered them up to give a shadow effect

The "thank" die actually says "thanks" but I just cut off the "S"
The bling flower was left over from other projects and the pretty silver flower was from Ira
I'm sure my best cards all come from scraps Lol!

It's so very windy here and cold ... I hope you are all safe where you are

Thanks for looking in ... Till soon

City Crafter 246 and a Sad Goodbye

Hello and good morning!

It's my turn to host the challenge at City Crafter this week
The theme is
Cheers!

The challenge is to create a card or project that features any kind of drink - It can be tea, coffee a soft drink or even champagne!

I made this card for my husband's upcoming birthday in a few weeks ... He likes a glass of red wine

The image is a digital one that I printed onto card stock and covered in glossy accents ... I then worked my design around it stamping and embossing a PTI clock face and adding gold splatters and a die cut glossy cat ...

This week our GD is the talented Manuela ... I just adore her creativity ... Hop over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful projects...

We are sad to say goodbye to our lovely team friend Charlene ... Char was due to leave us shortly but owing to health issues her departure has been brought forward. It's been such a pleasure working with Char and we all wish her a speedy recovery and a happy future... I'm sure you would like to do the same

We hope you can join our challenge this week and look forward to seeing your projects

Have a wonderful day
