CAS mix Up Reminder

Hi there!
Well that's Valentine's Day over for another year... I hope you had a good one.
I'm popping in with a reminder for the challenge at the CAS Mix Up

My one layered card couldn't be any simpler

This time I used a corner frame die as a stencil and moved it along, lining up the diamond shapes to make it a little larger.
I used 3 different distress Oxides to sponge over the stencil, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade and Faded Jeans

A stamped embossed sentiment and a stamped and clear embossed image from Clearly Besotted and that's it... Told you it was simple

Thanks to Joanna for a great challenge

Have a great day

Birthday Boy

Hello! How are you?

Yesterday was DH's birthday and I'd arranged a special lunch for us in the city. The weather was cold but sunny and Mikey was ready to take us to the train station... However, DH was not feeling well so I had to cancel our plans. Unfortunately the restaurant required a 24 hr notice in order to give a refund and they were not willing to reschedule so that was that.
At least he's feeling better today and is up and about.
I thought I'd share the card I made for him

The tree die was a gift from my blog friend Loll and I used a piece of AI background to create a scenic look with mountains and maybe a little lake in little lower triangle .. That piece just seemed to pull it all together

I cut the 'birthday' word twice, once in black to offset the AI one and give it some shadow
He was really pleased with it, though it seemed he was more overjoyed with one he was emailed from the football club he supports

Yep, this one had him smiling from ear to ear Lol! I'm going to print it and frame it for him.

I'm off to catch up on your blogs and see hat I've missed - Have a lovely day

Spring Flowers

Hello there...
Oh my goodness what a Sunday we are having... Storm Ciara has paid us a visit this weekend

This is the view outside my craft room window this morning and just beyond those tall trees is a road that is completely flooded...  We had some beautiful Daffodils in bloom but so far only one is left standing...

If that wasn't enough, we've had a lots of break ins here over the past few weeks and another one a few doors away yesterday. It's kind of scary - I lost my last beautiful German Shepherd some years ago and always felt safe then especially as DH is virtually deaf and he'll be 76 in a few days so not exactly a ninja Lol!

Anyway, putting all that aside, I have a card I made for my lovely blog friend Greta who will be celebrating her birthday on the same day as my DH... I can share as she's already received her card

Pretty painted Spring flowers without the rain and wind...

The foliage are trees stamped upside down and sideways in 2 colour inks, I've used this idea a few times in the past and used those stamps so many time they are almost worn out.

Have yourselves a lovely peaceful Sunday...

Till soon

CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hello there, I hope you are well...

Today's card is for the CAS Watecolour Challenge.

Being on a CAS team means I'm not eligible to win but I still like to challenge myself when I can and this past week I've had little time, believe it or not I've spent days putting Ikea furniture together.
There was a time that I could easily get up and down and into small spaces and though my brain thinks I still can, my body doesn't agree Lol!
So I took some time out yesterday and made a card instead.

The little mushrooms are from an Avery Elle Christmas set (Gnome for Christmas) and I have to say that I've used this set so many times - The stamps are so versatile for all year use
I stamped, embossed and painted using distress inks
The butterfly is from a Woodware stamp set and the sentiment is an Aliexpress purchase
I've also been doing a little sketching when I have time... It's been ages since I picked up my pencil and tried my hand at it... I'm not that good but I try

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for popping in

Cas Mix Up Challenge

Hello and welcome to February...
The month of love, one step nearer to Springtime and the start of a new challenge at the
This month Joanna is our host and Ina is our month long Guest Designer.
Joanna has picked a super challenge for us... Stencils from die cuts and there are videos up on the blog to guide you along if you have never tried this

It's a great way to get more out of your dies and fun to do

I die cut a floral frame from a scrap of card to use as my stencil, taped it down onto another piece of card and pounced some distress inks onto it.

It makes a great backdrop for those reeds... Can you tell I'm dreaming of warmer days Lol!
Yeah, that would make me smile.

The team have created some amazing card to inspire you... Go take a peek.
We'd loved you to play along with us, just remember your cards need to be Clean and Simple

Have a beautiful day

Celebrate

Hello...
The weekend went fast didn't it?And here we are only a few days before we welcome February.
A good friend of my DH celebrates his Golden Wedding Anniversary next weekend and we've been invited to a celebratory lunch with them. I was wracking my brain to come up with a card for them and then a new stamp arrived and that was my starting point

Colouring on vellum is not something I do very often and I kind of like non traditional cards (guess you've noticed that) But colouring on vellum is what I did...

With my new stamp by Woodware. I've quite a few of their stamps and I love them. You can no doubt see that I used that stencil AGAIN! Ha! I love it.
The little birdies were cut from a scrap piece of alcohol inked Yupo. A few more bits and bobs and then a surprise pop up on the inside...

okay, so it took me all day but I had fun and I just hope they like it.

Have a great day
